Dr Susan Saccomanno
I am a naturopath and an acupuncturist and am passionate about helping people feel their best.
While I was studying photography at Syracuse University I first discovered the rich world of herbalism and alternative health. Then, living in western North Carolina a friend gave me an NCNM brochure, and after 4 years of undergraduate pre-med study at Appalachian State University I headed west to Portland. I soon realized that I was not just learning to treat people with natural therapeutics, I was learning a whole new way to look at health and disease, one where the whole person is treated and symptoms are used as a clue to underlying imbalances. I have been stunned by the power and elegance of wholistic health care ever since and hope to engage my patients wholeheartedly in their pursuit of optimal health.
I invite you to experience the depth, breadth, and, yes, fun, of alternative healthcare, and see how good you can feel.

Clients Say
“Naturopathic care has given me back control of my health and well-being. Susan focuses on the underlying causes of health issues, rather than just treating the symptoms. In addition to the treatments I receive in Susan's office, she also gives me guidance on things I can do in my day to day life to support my health goals. Working with Susan is an absolute pleasure; she is compassionate, skilled, and exceptionally knowledgeable about women's health issues.”
“I sought a Naturopath after feeling ignored at my fertility doctor's office. They didn't care about my quality of life or the "why" behind my symptoms. Since beginning naturopathic treatment I have undergone multiple tests that no other doctor has ever ordered for me and we've discovered a couple of abnormalities that if left untreated would have caused more severe issues in the future. I'm a very happy patient.”
“More than anything, Susan is one of the healers I've met who truly cares. She makes me feel better just being in her presence. Susan is willing to collaborate with me -- she is also willing to listen to new ideas that I may read about or that friends may suggest. She also hears where I am willing to work, as well as where I am less willing to work, so that I get the healing support I need without feeling pushed.”
