Craniosacral Therapy @ Red Leaf Clinic

What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands on technique designed to resolve the stagnation and fragmentation that underlies and governs patterns of disease.

Using subtle palpatory skills the craniosacral practitioner is able to find restrictions held within the body. These restrictions can be created from physical or emotional trauma, weakened physiologic functioning, compromised elimination, or poor adaptive skills. Once these restrictions are corrected communication and proper biological functioning is restored.

What to expect during a Craniosacral Treatment
A typical craniosacral therapy session lasts anywhere from 30-60 minutes. The patient, fully clothed, rests on a massage table while the practitioner “listens through touch.” The practitioner gently places their hands in specific locations, mostly on the head, to assess the presence of subtle restrictions. Patients report feeling a deep sense of relaxation during the visit and increased stamina following.

What conditions can Craniosacral therapy be used for?
Craniosacral therapy is a wonderful modality for digestive disturbances, heartburn, pain management, seasonal allergies, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, menstrual irregularities, infertility and hypothyroidism.

Craniosacral therapy is also ideally suited for infants and young children. Gentle and effective craniosacral therapy is helpful in conditions such as colic, ADHD, constipation, behavior problems, and frequent colds.
